From 3 July to 10 July 2022, we acknowledge NAIDOC Week. This year's theme is 'Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!' and is a week where we celebrate and learn from the history, culture and achievements of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander peoples.

At present, we are in Canberra and would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of Ngunnawal country. We offer our respects to the Ngunnawal land, its people and their elders, past and present. We also thank the Aboriginal artists who share their art with us through textiles.

Our particular focus is on Aboriginal art through the medium of textiles. The wonderful Aboriginal fabrics designed by Aboriginal artists and produced by M&S Textiles have been Misty Threads' signature fabric line for many years now. 

Each fabric tells a story from Aboriginal life and dreaming. They reflect the incredible physical  nature of our country, the bones and lines of the continent.

As quilters and textile artists, working with these beautiful fabrics puts colours and patterns, at once both new and familiar, into our hands to do with what we will.
